We are all afraid of the unknown , thats why maybe religions have gain a lot of power since man cant explain everything that sorrounds him . The human psyche fights for understanding itself and the enviroment we live in , but when rational explanations are non-existent we turn in to our primitive brain….. that dark corner in our minds where the magic and superhenatural is alive , where demons and fairys dance arround .
The new era of knowledge has bring a lot of light and understanding about nature . Science is the new religion , and u cant contradict it cause the facts speak out loudly than any irrational myth . But theres still a tunel , a dark corner that no one cant explain …. is limbo , is closing your eyes forever …is death. I remember watching my grandma dead , is funny how we react to that besides the typical crying and sadness . I wanted to touch her , I wanted to know where she went , it was fucknig scarry…….So if u are afraid of dead why not praise her? , why not worship her? , at the end she would come for you.
“The white girl” thats the loving manner their followers name her. Is a she by the way . Is death , the cult to the Holy death . The Catholic church says that is heresy ,” a person cant worship death, thats denying life” some priests speak out , but people doesnt care , they love her , shes their mother , so she loves them . At the heart of Mexico City you can find a lot of statues of the Holy Death , all dressed up , with candles arround her .Sometimes families put photos of their love ones so she can take good care of them. When someone is worshipping the Holy death people would say :” Of course hes a drugdealer or thief ” , but not only the scumbag of society worship her , theres alot of politicains , actors , doctors , etc …..

The aztecs had Mictlantecuhtli and Mictecacíhuatl the god and goddess of the aztec death , darkness and the region of the dead ones . The Mayas had “Ah Puch” , king of the underworld who was portray as a skeleton with a jaguar face or an owl. And of course we have the celebration of “Día de los muertos” (day of the dead ones) Two entiere days dedicated to thoose who passed away. People celebrate their love ones preparing meals , and going to the cemetery bringing with them candles , food and everything the deceased one used to love when he was walking amongst the living . Some families put an altar , cause they say that the deceased would return to the house of the family and visit them . November 1st and 2nd are the dates for this celebration , the first day is dedicated to the adults and November 2nd to the children.
We have a long tradition worshiping death , its in our blood and in our nature and I think is a better way for aceppting the unavoidable. We live in a world of duality , man -woman , light – dark , life – death . Everything and everyone that has a corporal form must die , it is the law of life …or maybe the law of death

I agree, every human will have a taboo according to the fear of the unknow, and death certainly is, we wont have any cult that will lead us to the unknown of the things… But there are those who wants to live according to the dark side of the soul, you see those who are always dancing in the necromantical and enjoying to have answers by the dead. Interesting virus, man, i loved this.
Indeed the fear of death is most powerful and lies within us all. Your words ring true about its nature. Death is unavoidable… undeniable… and inevitable. I used to fear death beyond reason, to fear that final breath… that final moment… “What would I feel? What would I see? What would happen next?”. All of these questions used to cloud my mind. Now I see death in a different light… the light of its beautiful darkness. Death will come for me… and when it does I shall be ready with open arms… waiting for Eternal rest from this Hell of a Ride called life.
The fear of death or the fear of the feeling that comes with the reason of death. Usually pain, counting out the old people that mostly die by just “sleeping away”. I’m not surprised it has been labeled just as “fear of death” as it’s so much easier to say.
Also, the beliefs of afterlife. If one believes that he would descent to the heavens when dead, he would be happy dying. But even christians have created the bad side of it, the possibility of going to hell. Then again, it helps people keeps their morals and live the life as a good person.
And it’s no better when considering rebirth as some other being. Being human, you could be born to the poor parts of the world and being an animal… ‘nuf said.
My advice is, when your life gets too painful, boring, worthless… Get an euthanasia in the firm belief that there is nothing on the other side. Yea, you never know, not many have come back to tell the tale, but that way it’s probably the easiest death you can get.
I think atheists often rely too heavily on “reason” as their God. I’ve seen many of them stick to the conclusions, reasons, and opinions they develop/synthesize from others and that becomes their code; what they don’t realize is that science evolves, reason is not concrete, and its very nature forces one to keep an open mind in order to respect it for its true self.
Totaly agree , like I said Science is the new religion , it has become so dogmatic as traditional religion
You’re both way off. Just sayin’. I’d elaborate, but I just had cancer surgery on Wednesday and I don’t feel like pointing out why what you two said is misinformed.
well Im sorry bout ure surgery , hope u r ok but I think that u should elaborate , U cant disagree with someone and then step out , come on I want to know whatt u think thats why this forum is all about
There really shouldn’t be anything scary about death–it’s just a thing, like a clock stopping. Only foolish fairy-tales make people fear it so much.
I dare to say that I believe that when our planet was created it was immediately ”investigated” by aliens (because I don’t think that the birth of a new planet can go unnoticed). They came to our planet and we humans saw them. They helped us to develop our skills and perhaps to build structures using resources our planet has. And soon we started praising them as gods because they seemed so supernatural to us. This is where this word ”God” comes from. That’s my opinion.
Interesting theory
yup interesting it´s gay how most of this things that could be true might never be answer
